Here for a Season, With a Reason

In this world, we are here for a season but for a reason. Everyone here has a purpose and a goal to fulfil. From when we step in it to our sunset, every step we take and who we take it with, determines if we achieve our goal or not. Our loved ones, like car fuel keep us moving. Our friends, like bumps and corners, slow us when we move fast. Our enemies like like black spots make us careful. And God, like car tires keep us going.

However, not all goes as has been set to do.

Be Kind

Once during a great famine, there was a man who was a pauper. Everyday,he walked around the homesteads scavenging for meals. It happened that in the same vicinity,a man and his wife lived but they were not welcoming. No one ever dared to approach their home.

One day due the man of the house saw from a distance the pauper approaching his gate. He was taking his lunch. Quickly he called on his wife to come and hide the plates. The pauper approached them and after quick pleasantries,he was shown off with the woman saying that he was welcomed once the harvest time comes. The man of the house after seeing off the pauper sat down to continue having his meal. Not long the pauper came running. Like before, the woman quickly hid the plates under the cupboard.

“What is it?why are you running?” the man angrily asked.

“I met up with a black mamba over there” the pauper replied pointing towards the grazing land.

“What was the size of the snake?” the woman asked as she ran towards them.

“So long, from where I am standing to where that plate of ugali under the cupboard is” the pauper replied.

The couple looked at each other in shame. After few minutes of confusion, the man beckoned the pauper to have a sit and they ate together.

The next day came and the man went to the village square. He told the villagers that he had enough to keep them going for sometime as they wait for the harvest. Every one was happy because the rich man had a change of heart. He had learnt his lessons.

  • Be kind, everyone you meet is fighting a battle.
  • No one has it all that they do not need someone else help.
  • One who has friends is more richer than one who has money.
  • No man is an island, a man is a social being.
