The Desert Flower
Across the sand dune hill sits a lovely desert flower,
Swaying sideways, it shows the beauty of the desert,
Under the scorching sun, it proofs its power,
And to the wild animals it makes an all time dessert

Its petals shine brightly in morning sun,
In the evening star you hear insects singing the melodies,
Deeply rooted it gives life to creatures under the sand,
And the universe converse to give them a playground,
A stone throw away an oasis shines under the moonlight,
The flower is all smiles watching the water movement,
It knows that when the oasis is there, it means life,
Though at a distant, it gives hope that desert life is not bad,

While being at the top of the hill and seeing everything around it,
The desert flower still feels lonely and having no friends to chat it,
The passing of the night is cold and takes eternity to dawn,
But the flower always looks forward to each new day to watch the sky
When the morning comes, it whistles to the oasis from afar,
Knowing that water is life, the desert flower has to make friends,
Under the clear sky rain drops once in a while in eternity,
And being far from the water source is disastrous to the desert flower,
But the desert flower is not the only one dependent on the oasis,
Wild creatures run to wet their throats under the afternoon sun,
The desert flower has to send its roots underneath the sand,
Its survival means a lot to the wild creatures feeding from it,
The world is a playground and everyone in it plays a different position,
Being careless you can run throughout it and never once score a goal,
There are those in the pinnacle of success but still feel lonely,
Like the desert flower, they have to depend on those at the bottom of the pyramid,
Always never look down on others, you need them at a point in life,
Never back stab others, they may be your only hope when in need,
Mind your own business and you will be in harmony with the universe,
Give everyone their deserved space and no one will step on your toes
Hope Once More
Hope comes in the morning when the sun rises
Dawn always comes after the darkness of the night,
A new day brings forth rejuvenation and jubilation,
Even with its difficulties, life must continue,

Even through the darkest night,
When all hope seems gone,
And the world looks so gloomy,
We still know that the sun will rise again
Even when our feet falter,
The dawn will surely come,
The sky will smile again,
We still know that the sun will rise again
The enemies may lay in ambush,
Setting traps for our footsteps,
And waiting for us to be ensnared,
We still know that the sun will rise again
The paths may seem dark,
Friends may look the other way,
Life may have its challenges,
We still know that the sun will rise again
The sun may go down in the evening,
The night can be long,
Even make dreams hard to come by,
We still know that the sun will rise again
The mountain can be steep,
And steps can be slippery,
One may fall down along the way,
We still know that the sun will rise again
The world may look gloomy,
Enemies may triumph,
And friends look down on you,
We still know that the sun will rise again
The end of hardship may seem not forthcoming,
Our friends behaviour may be unbecoming,
The tests of life can be unwelcoming,
We still know that the sun will rise again
The world smiles to those with means and stature,
But the paupers are jeered and detested,
Always we should not kill our hope for a better tomorrow,
We still know that the sun will rise again
As birds sing melodies in the morning,
We know that a new dawn has come,
Our souls sway with joy and merry
For a new dawn has come, our hope has been rejuvenated
The Desert Flower- The Desert Walk
Under the desert scorching sun,
His feet played with the heap of the sand,
He looked up to the blue sky with a smile,
There was no drop of water for a mile,
Under the desert scorching sun,
His feet played with the heap of the sand,
He looked up to the blue sky with a smile,
There was no drop of water for a mile,
Walking across the desert looking for greener pastures,
Back home there was no ray of lustre,
For his family he had to take that risk,
Providing for them is his duty to fulfil,
He knew that if not for anything man must live,
For through him his family would get a relieve,
At the place yonder there was hope again,
Looking backwards meant there would be no gain,
The universe has given him roles,
To provide for and protect his family,
Managing the world resources and teach the coming generations,
To change the world to be a better place for all,
For these, he has to be mentally and spiritually strong,
His family always looks forward to his return,
The thoughts of his woman and children pushed him to work more harder,
Fulfilling his responsibilities will give his soul satisfaction,
His family kneels down in prayer for his protection,
He roamed the ages of the expanse desert,
His eyes could not locate a single sign of life,
He knew he must not return home with an empty hand,
He had to take a leap of faith,
African Man
From a far he could sight a pack of seagulls,
His heart leaped with joy, his lips afforded a smile,
The prayers of his family had worked,
His wife and children will be happy to see him,
The African man had to give his all,
To survive means his strength was needed as a whole,
Man had to stand up and be counted,
Among his peers he had to proof that he can care and provide,
Success and solid foundation for his family his mission,
Prosperity of his coming generations his vision
This is the nature of an African man.
